Kahwa Coffee Roasters, the largest independent coffee roaster in the state of Florida, has entered into a strategic partnership with kathy ireland® Worldwide (kiWW®). The partnership and proceeds from all Kahwa coffee product sales will help serve and support the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (NPCF), a national nonprofit organization which funds lifesaving research of pediatric cancer. Coffee can be purchased in any of the 15 Kahwa locations, online at kahwacoffee.com and found throughout more than 800 domestic and international wholesale customers such as hotels, restaurants and grocery stores.
Ms. Ireland, who serves as the NPCF’s International Youth Chair, will become the first Kahwa Coffee Roasters global brand ambassador in the company’s history. Cause marketing efforts and promotional campaigns will be launched in April.
“We are experiencing an unprecedented global event at this time, and now more than ever, there is a need to support non-profit organizations,” said Raphael Perrier, co-owner of Kahwa Coffee Roasters. “Our focus with this partnership is to restore hope for health-focused charities during such challenging times, with reassurance that their community is here and continues to support them.”
For over 14 years, the Kahwa Coffee Roasting Company has been an active member of the communities it serves. Charity and giving back are an integral part of the company DNA. “We are touched and thankful to have partnered with Kathy and her incredible team at kiWW®, who share our same passion for philanthropy,” said Sarah Perrier, co-owner of Kahwa Coffee Roasters. “Our hope is that the community and the nation will come together during these tough times and work toward making a collective impact.”
“In times like these, we truly see the best of the human spirit with the selfless acts of others. Not only is Kahwa Coffee the most delicious tasting coffee, it is now the favorite of our family, our business teams and clients. Thankfully, this wonderful exquisite coffee is available nationwide at KahwaCoffee.com. Each blend is roasted and packaged on demand for freshness and quality. Kahwa is not ubiquitous; it is truly for coffee connoisseurs of every flavor,” says Kathy Ireland, Chair, CEO and Chief Designer of kiWW®, ranked as the 26th most powerful brand in the world, by License Global magazine. “The dedication of the Perrier family to making the world a better place, is admirable and reflects kiWW’s core values. All of us at kiWW® look forward to working closely with Sarah and Raphael and everyone at Kahwa in supporting the lifesaving work of NPCF through this partnership,” adds Ms. Ireland. Prior to solidifying the partnership, Chef Andre Carthen, kiWW’s brand ambassador and bestselling author, conducted a blind taste test with ninety percent of the people involved, choosing Kahwa Coffee over other major coffee brands.
“In these uncertain times, it is imperative that we continue our work in finding cures for childhood cancer,” says David Frazer, CEO of National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. “We are grateful to Kathy, our International Youth Chair and to Sarah and Raphael Perrier for their incredible generosity, in helping us fund the work that will destroy the number one cause of death by disease among children.” kathy ireland® Worldwide has earmarked 51% of proceeds from this collaboration for NPCF.
If spending more time at home than usual has you reaching for snacks more often, keep some quick, flavorful options on-hand to help fuel you and your family throughout the day when hunger pangs strike.
One versatile pantry staple that can fit a variety of snack cravings: popcorn. With no artificial additives or preservatives, light and airy popcorn is naturally low in fat and calories, non-GMO and gluten free, making it a sensible option to enjoy one handful at a time or sprinkled with seasonings that satisfy your taste buds. A whole-grain food, popcorn has energy-producing carbohydrates and fiber, which can help keep you satisfied longer. Plus, it's simple enough to make that kids can help in the kitchen by popping it themselves or adding toppings.
Honey Matcha Popcorn
Enjoy the simplicity of whole grain popcorn with a sprinkling of antioxidant-rich matcha (green tea) and just a touch of honey.
1. Preheat oven to 300°F. Line large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Place popcorn in large mixing bowl.
2. In small saucepan set over medium heat, melt together butter, honey, matcha and salt, stirring until dissolved. Pour over popcorn; toss to combine. Spread onto baking sheet. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
3. Bake, stirring occasionally, for 25 to 30 minutes or until popcorn is dry. Let cool completely before serving.
Whether you're craving something sweet, salty, spicy – or nearly anything else – freshly popped popcorn can serve as the perfect base ingredient to simply mix in your favorite toppings or create more unique tastes by combining a variety of herbs and spices. For example, consider these hacks to add easy flavor:
• Pop it on the stove. Stovetop popping allows you to choose your toppings. Cover the bottom of a pot with a thin layer of oil and popcorn kernels, shake to coat, cover with a lid then turn on the heat. Once popping has slowed to 2-second intervals, remove from heat and add toppings.
• Add some sweetness. When you're in the mood for something sweet, add a dash of salt and a pinch of sugar (or more to meet your taste) to a bowl of popcorn. Or add sugar to the pan before it's popped, like this recipe for Sugar Corn.
• Melt some butter. For a classic taste treat, melt a little butter and pour over your bowl of popped corn.
• Satisfy multiple cravings. Pop a large pot of popcorn and divide it in half; top one half with sweeter toppings like honey, which is a key ingredient in Honey Matcha Popcorn, and the other with something savory, like nutritional yeast or dill. When hunger strikes, you're ready, regardless of the flavor craving.
• Spice it up. Cayenne pepper and a blend of other spices can be sprinkled on popcorn to create a spicier snack like Cajun Corn.
• Add mix-ins. Add dried fruits, nuts or candies to a bowl of popcorn to make your own trail mix.
• Cheese, please. A sprinkle of Parmesan cheese can make your snack a bit more substantial. Mix in some dried herbs like basil and parsley to create this Popcorn Con Pesto.

"In 2019, Heroes at Heart Coffee and Tea Blends generated over $65,000 for charity partners, and thousands of pounds of coffee and tea were donated to first responder locations in The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® communities," said Darrin Kellaris, vice president of marketing, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® brand. With the emergence of COVID-19, now more than ever, we want to show appreciation for the nurses, firefighters and peace officers who keep us safe. You can get extra use out of teabags after your cup of tea. You can reuse the teabag, but after the first cup it will start to lose flavor and strength. But if you think teabags are only used in the drink, read on, there are plenty of other uses for them!
Use teabags on your puffy eyes. Warm or cold teabags can help refresh your eyes whether they're achy, tired or puffy.
Reduce plantar warts. Plantar warts can be treated with teabags because of the tannin in the tea. On the affected area, place a warm wet teabag for 10-20 minutes, and then leave it to dry naturally. If you repeat this for a couple of days, hopefully the wart will go.
Facials can be expensive, but you can make one at home... Give yourself a facial using tea. Place a brewed tea bag into a bowl of hot water. Then position your head over the bowl, and then put a towel over your head to keep the steam in. It will leave your face glowing and radiant!
Soothe burns and nicks from razors by applying a wet teabag to the skin. If you have sunburn, a bruise, stings or bites, or a cold sore you can put a damp tea bag onto the area and it will help to soothe the skin.
Start A Fire. You can use your old tea bags to make firestarters for your campfires! Squeeze the water out of your tea bags and allow them to dry thoroughly. Next, dip the dried tea bags in melted wax (like soy candle wax). Arrange the wax-dipped bags on a piece of tin foil or parchment paper. Once the wax has hardened, they’re ready to use! They light quickly, burn brightly, and will help you get a campfire going in no time.
If you have a big, dirty, greasy dish that seems impossible to clean, leave it overnight with hot water and a few brewed teabags. They will help break down the grease.
Clean dark leather shoes by wiping a wet, brewed teabag onto the surface of the shoe.
You can use tea to make your hair shiny and smooth! To restore shine to your hair, use a couple of used tea bags to brew a strong tea, then allow the tea to cool completely. Before a shower, pour the tea into your hair until it’s completely saturated. Allow the tea to sit for about 10 minutes, then hop in the shower. Shampoo and condition your hair as normal. Your hair will thank you the tea treatment!
Control odors around the house with teabags. Put some used teabags in a bowl and place inside a smelly fridge. Leave overnight, remove the teabags and be left with the much nicer smell of tea!
Promise™ Beverages, a premium craft beverage brand, is announcing its launch with a new line of small batch Cold Brew Tea this month. Made with high-quality, organic ingredients, Promise Cold Brew Tea™ brings together delicious flavors, an innovative brewing process and more sustainable packaging, all with the goal of helping to solve the water crisis in Sub-Saharan Africa where the brand sources its tea leaves.
Unlike most iced tea beverages, Promise Cold Brew Tea is handcrafted in small batches, following a cold, slow brewing process in which the tea is steeped in cold water over time. The end result is a smooth, delicate flavor accentuating the notes from the tea leaves. Promise Cold Brew Tea are non-GMO, contain no artificial ingredients and are sweetened naturally using the best-tasting part of the stevia leaf.
Promise Cold Brew Tea is available in two flavors, Unsweet African Hibiscus, a tart and fruity tea with notes of citrus and pomegranate, and Slightly Sweet Island Mango, a rich black tea paired with notes of sweet mango. Each flavor contains five calories or less. In alignment with the brand's values, the Cold Brew Teas are packaged in environmentally friendly paperboard gallon boxes which are fully recyclable. The one-gallon box has a smaller carbon footprint than traditional glass bottles.
"We have a passion to bring our consumers premium-quality refreshing beverages, made with responsibly-sourced ingredients," said Cristina Itze, Marketing Manager at Promise Beverages. "Using premium ingredients and a cold brew process, we're able to bring an all-natural, delicious and refreshing tea to the market, paired with a social mission close to our hearts. Ultimately, Promise Cold Brew Teas were born from our desire to provide a healthy beverage option that would enable us to aid in solving the water crisis and we're incredibly excited to share this mission and product with consumers."
As water is the foundation of life and a human necessity that everyone should have access to, Promise has partnered with The Water Project, a charity that provides access to clean, safe and reliable water and sanitation solutions across Sub-Saharan Africa. Promise donates a portion of net sales to help provide water for people in these communities, many of which are located in the same regions that grow and harvest tea leaves used to make the Promise Cold Brew Tea.
"We're so excited for the partnership between Promise and The Water Project. Their support has already made an impact through a spring protection project that is actively serving clean water to families in Western Kenya," said Peter Chasse, Founder of The Water Project. "The Water Project and Promise believe in a world where everyone has clean water to drink. Our partnership is making that a reality."
Promise Cold Brew Teas are currently available in gallon boxes on Amazon for $14.99 in addition to select Whole Foods Markets in the Southwest region of the U.S. To learn more about Promise Cold Brew Teas visit www.promisebeverages.com
Just last month, Jot launched a way to “transform any morning routine, afternoon lull or evening nightcap” with its flagship product, Ultra Coffee: a liquid 20 times more concentrated than common coffee. Just one tablespoon of Ultra Coffee, plus a splash of water or milk (hot or cold), is all it takes to create an unforgettable at-home experience.
Founded in 2019 in Boulder, Colorado by Andrew Gordon and Palo Hawken, Jot brings an inventive spirit to the best of coffee's time-honored culture. The result is unmistakable: an exceptionally pure liquid that delivers unparalleled clarity of flavor, versatility and convenience.
Ultra Coffee is the best expression of coffee, thoughtfully extracted from organic, fair trade beans. The product arrives direct-to-consumer in a sleek, reusable 200mL Italian glass bottle and makes up to 14 cups of consistently perfect coffee.
"There's nothing like this on the market," states Jot co-founder Andrew Gordon. "We created Ultra Coffee to offer an exceptional coffee experience anywhere, at any time and added instantly to any routine. This is the future of coffee."
"All you need is a single tablespoon to create a barista-level cappuccino, espresso, or iced coffee at home." – Food & Wine Magazine
Jot deploys a progressive, reverse gravitational extraction technique that's intentionally slow and precise. The team's innovative approach turns traditional coffee brewing on its head, literally.
Today's at-home coffee drinker faces a choice between ease and excellence (i.e. pod versus pour-over, Folgers versus French press, crystals versus cold brew). Jot brings the artisanal coffee shop experience directly to your door - no expensive or time- consuming equipment required.
"Coffee is one of the most complex foods in the world with over a thousand compounds contributing to flavor and aroma," Hawken says. "Even in the world's best coffees, we've learned to accept off-flavors that are inherent to traditional brewing, but what if we don't have to compromise?"
Simply put, this is the way coffee should have always tasted. To experience coffee for the first time, again, visit Jot.co.
